SaveTheSharpFarm.com Retiring Soon
By David Fleming
With the recent news of the Pocahontas County Commission's directive to the Pocahontas County Public Service District to take eminent domain of the Sharp Farm off the table of this project, it is both with gladness and bittersweet reflection that I will be retiring this website soon.
This effort has been a massive investment of time, hard work, and much emotion. I am thankful to all who have supported this cause.
Moving beyond eminent domain, there is much more work to do on this issue regarding motivation and necessity. But that is not the central premise of this website. I encourage readers to follow 8RiversSafeDevelopment.com going forward. That website focuses on another important aspect of this project: its impact to the unique cave and karst systems found throughout the upper Elk River Watershed.
Also, ElkHeadwatersWatershedAssociation.org is in the early stages of putting together a Comprehensive Watershed Plan (CWP), so be sure to follow that as well.
